Extra, extra, read all about it! The cold and flu season is going to start early and be particularly awful this year – be sure to get your flu shot!

WAIT – W-H-A-A-A-T?

Is it just me or does the cold and flu season start early every year and is ALWAYS particularly awful?

[insert eye roll here …]

What we SHOULD be talking about, is how “Big Pharma” continuously scares people into getting flu shots (and other vaccines they don’t need) to get our money and make us sick … now that is news.

Like most gals out there, I don’t have time to get sick. When a sore throat creeps in, I grab my arsenal of natural ingredients and get going!

This little gem is super simple and was stumbled upon by complete accident while attempting to make mouthwash! It works and can be made quickly (even in the complete fogginess of a cold or flu). Throw out the Sucrets and delicious (yeah right) “cherry flavored” lozenges and make this!

Why is this throat rinse so healing? Let’s break down the ingredients:

Coconut Oil (organic, cold-pressed, unrefined) – Anti-Inflammatory (reduces swelling) and Antimicrobial (germ fighter)

Sea Salt – Draws out moisture, temporarily reducing swelling

Essential Oils for a Sore Throat

Clove – Antimicrobial, Anti-fungal, Antiseptic, Antiviral, Anti-Imflamatory

Thyme – Antioxidant and Antimicrobial

Peppermint – Antioxidant, Antibacterial, Decongestant

*Essential oils should be 100% pure and certified organic*
