Coconut Cream & Honey Body Wash

I absolutely LOVE all things coconut for homemade bath and body products … coconut milk, coconut cream, coconut oil, coconut flakes, fresh coconut flesh … is there more?

Making a homemade, chemical-free body wash that a.) cleanses well b.) smells good c.) is non-drying and d.) can double as a shaving cream (for us gal’s) seems like a daunting task.

All of the ‘Do-It-Yourself-ers’ (is that even a word?) let’s get to work!

Mixing coconut milk and Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Castile soap is a magical thing. You end up with a frothy mixture that on its own is a great base for any body wash, but I wanted one that was full of healing, anti-bacterial, moisturizing and anti-aging properties so I changed up the “standard” base by using coconut cream and a few other handy dandy favorites from my DIY bag o’ tricks!

Those include:

Honey, Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Vegetable Glycerin and Coconut Oil.

The end result of this experiment? An amazing, luxuriously creamy body wash that rivals any brand purchased in the store. The best part, chemical-free and safe for all skin types.

Did I meet all of the criteria above?

a.) cleanses well

Yes! Coconut and honey have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and we’re using Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Castile soap (need I say more?)

b.) smells good

Yes! Sweet Orange essential oil smells amazing!

c.) non-drying

Yes! Honey, vegetable glycerin and coconut oil are naturally moisturizing/hydrating.

d.) double as a shaving cream (for us gals)

Yes!

Score!  Time to lather up – later y’all!
